Check it out:
Wow August 1st already! What happened to July? Busy as usual but instead of going into all that I want to show you the awesome bar that my Fiance aka Annie's Attic carpenter Colin has made.
Check it out:
It is made out of recycled barn board and poly'ed so it can be used inside or out.
It has a cool side shelf that moves can up or down and wait until you see the back.
It has a repurposed cabinet door and sewing machine drawers. It even has space for a small refrigerator! Which is included by the way.
You can come see it and purchase it if you like at Vintage Chic in Newburyport, MA!
Remember the great pick we did last month at the old cottage/train station?
We rescued what I thought were some great chairs from down in the cellar. They do look like a sorry lot not seeing the light of day for many years. However can't you see the potential?? I thought they would make great planters for a porch, deck, garden etc.
I decided they would be my first project from the great treasures we found at this house.
I have been in such a rush these days I didn't take in between pictures so without further adieu here they are after their long awaited face-lift.
The blue and black ones are spoken for but the other two are available. Just shoot me an email or message me on facebook.
It has been too long since my last blog. We all got sick in March and then some nice weather hit and I ran outside to plant. On and On.
As I have talked about I was going to blog each room as I went along. Since the game room is almost complete I am going to give the condensed version .
I started with this great round coffee table and painted it with Annie Sloan's Barcelona Orange chalk paint to go with the orange and blue theme in the room and decided to add a Celtic design:
I printed out the design, smeared the back with a charcoal pencil and then turned it over to trace the design on the table. Then I traced the outline with marker paint and filled in with Old White, Barn Red and Provence chalk paint.
Next , since it was a game room I decided we needed a Game Table. :-) I forgot to take a before picture of the table but I have a few of the chairs.
The chair still needed another coat of white when I took the picture but you get the gist.
I was going to put a checkerboard in the middle of the table but decided to do something funky with stripes.
For a wall decoration I had an old metal starburst that I thought would look great painted in my accent colors and since the look has a sixties flair it went great in the room.
Drum roll please.... here is the room put together so far.
Next for the room I am making an entry bench out of my parents hope chest. Stay tuned and talk to you next time.
So being the consistent person I am instead of staying in one room at a time I might digress here and there. I am going to start with some cool candle holders I made out of old vintage lamps. Here is the lamp.....
I started taking it apart , rearranged a little and put it back together as a candle holder. :-)
Next I painted it with napoleonic blue chalk paint and dry brushed over it with pure white and added silver gilding accents to the metal. Then I attached it back together with an inside rod and here we have it. Lamp turned candle holder and of course I had to have two......
So that was a sneak peek at the dining room. Next time back to the Game Room.
Bye for now. Oh and if you like what you see let us know and we can make a candle holder for you out of your favorite lamp or mine. :-)
Wow it's 2016 already? Well at least It is still January, whoops February. Where does the time go? We have been straight out mostly with our personnel lives and I need to bring focus back to Annie's Attic and the wonderful world of repurposing and decorating with fun vintage and antiques finds.
If you have been following our Facebook page you know I am engaged and in the process of blending my life with my fiancé, Annie's Attic one and only famously talented carpenter(of course I have to brag but it's true 😉).
Since we are busy remodeling our own house I am going to show you room by room how we are repurposing and fitting some unique pieces in our home so you can get some ideas and think about what we can make for you. In addition I will be showing you some fun things we are working on for other customers.
It will be fun stay tuned.............
The new website has been launched and I fixed the font here.....lol The online store isn't finished yet and I have to hook up to my media sites.....blah blah blah By the way if you see something in the store you like just shoot me an email until I hook up the online payment.
